Live

With its top tier schools, Mediterranean climate, and thriving walkable downtown, it's no wonder why many don't desire to leave the "Danville Bubble." Real estate in the area, including in nearby Alamo and gated Blackhawk, comes at a higher cost in comparison to the rest of Contra Costa County. Danville's home prices are comparable to San Francisco's, however each dollar is well spent for those seeking an alternative to the city that includes larger open spaces, quieter living, easy access to nature, and cultural experiences.

Commute

Most residents use a personal vehicle for their primary mode of transportation. The city is pushing for more sustainable transport options by offering incentives for residents who choose to adopt them (ie e-bikes, Contra Costa Connection, Vanpools etc).

Danville is a fun mix of trendy specialty boutiques, restaurants, and a bustling art scene. Head to Blackhawk Plaza for outdoor shopping, dining, a world famous museum, playgrounds, and other outdoor activities. Thirsty? Elliot's, established in 1907 and one of the Bay's oldest dive bars, offers great drinks and an awesome spot for people watching. Restaurants of note: Sideboard Neighborhood Kitchen, Covina Hermanos, and Locando Ravello. Those with an affinity for the outdoors will find Mount Diablo State Park in the East, Las Trampas in the West, and the Iron Horse Regional trail down the middle.
